Training in Kampala, Uganda
Tom Potokar and Opoku Ware Ampomah carried out a 5 day training for 16 surgeons, nurses and therapists from CoRSU, IHK and Mulago Hospitals. The short course focused on acute burn injuries and reconstructive burn surgery drawing from the Essential Burn Care (EBC) course, and more advanced clinical skills and topics such as quality improvement, communications, motivation and leadership. The training was very well received and two participants were motivated to undertake a fellowship with Dr Shobha Chamania at the Interburns Training Centre (ITC) in India in November.
