Burn Care Foundation delivers.

The Burn Care Foundation is a social unit of NEMCARE Hospital and a key partner for Interburns in the region. The continue to train medical staff in peripheral hospitals on basic management of burns and the importance of public awareness of first aid and prevention. They have recently run an EBC Bongaigaon Refinery campus in December 2015, assisted by the Association of Surgeons of Assam. It was inaugurated by Mr R K Sharma, General Manager( SHE) , Bongaigaon Refinery.

The training was conducted by Dr Bhupendra Prasad Sarma, Eminent Burn Surgeon and Convener, Burn Care Foundation, Dr Rabindra Nath Mazumder, President Association of Surgeons of Assam and Dr Dipak Kr. Sarma, Associate Prof. Of Surgery, Guwahati Medical College.

The emphasis was on assessment, planning and management of moderately injured burn patients in peripheral hospitals and how to refer major burns to tertiary care centres after first aid and resuscitation. The new methods of burn management through wound covers and early excision and skin grafting in deep burns were discussed. The Program was attended by 25 doctors, 16 Nurses and 8 paramedics, a total of 49 medical personnel.

This is the 8th Training program on Essential Burn Care organised by the Burn Care Foundation in the last three years in different regions of the North Eastern states.
