EBC training in N-E India
Many congratulations to the Burn Care Foundation, a social unit of NEMCARE Hospital, Guwahati, for holding a successful Essential Burn Care (EBC) training with Meghalaya Medical Services Association at Tura Meghalaya on 30th Nov 2019. EBC training includes lectures, practical demonstrations and interactive sessions around initial and emergency management, first aid and ongoing care of patients at intermediate level units.
Attendance was an impressive 35 doctors and 113 nurses from different parts of Meghalaya. Many thanks to the renowned burn surgeon and Secretary of the Burn Care Foundation, Dr. Bhupendra Prasad Sarma, who was Course Director, Dr. Dipak Kumar Sarma, Professor of Surgery and Head of Department of Emergency Medicine, Guwahati Medical College, Dr. Kabita Sangma Choudhury, Junior Consultant, Burn Unit of Nemcare Hospital and Ms V.S Malingwon, Sister In charge of Burn Unit.
The participants were very satisfied with the training and felt the course would help them manage the initial phase of burn patients in the peripheral hospitals.
The Burn Care Foundation has organized many such programs in collaboration with INTERBURNS since 2013 in North East India to help doctors, nurses and paramedics manage minor burns and the initial phases of major burns.
