Basic Burn Care (BBC)

BBC is aimed at community and local level healthcare workers dealing with burn patients as outpatients. It includes first aid and prevention, simple management, dressings, and complications. It is an interactive course and trainers are encouraged to use their own knowledge of the local context to deliver the materials.

First showcased and adapted in 2018, it is currently being delivered in the local language in Nepal, the West Bank and Ethiopia.

BBC has 4 domains each following a similar format of lectures, small group discussions and cases. An explanatory podcast accompanies the teaching resources, which include laminated pictures, discussion topics, and easy to understand explanations such as fluids and red flags.
