Since 2013, Interburns and our partners in Bangladesh, Acid Survivors Foundation (ASF), have trained over 400 health care professionals, including doctors, surgeons, nurses, therapists and other staff. ASF recently ran a further instructor training in Dhaka to increase the pool of faculty available to deliver Essential Burn Care training throughout the country.

Trainees included staff from a wide range of hospitals including many outside Dhaka, to facilitate future training in regional services. Staff came from Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, Mymensingh; Sylhet M.A.G. Osmani Medical college; Shere Bangla Medical College Hospital, Barisal; Savar Upazila Health Complex Rangpur Medical College Hospital; and the Combined Military Hospital. 3

The day-long programme combined elements of the Essential Burn Care course with an instructor programme and was run by experienced faculty from ASF, the National Institute for Burns and Plastic Surgery, and Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital. We would like to thank all the faculty and participants for taking part in this training.
