Fundraising by Swansea Surgical Society for Interburns

Swansea Medical School Surgical Society have been supporting Interburns for the last 6 years through hosting an annual “Fight Night’ where consultants from local hospitals are pitched together to try and sell their speciality to the attending audience Those attending vote for their preferred speciality by buying tokens. Each consultant pairs up in a bout with another consultant and has three minutes to do his or her best to convince everyone that their particular field whether oncology, dermatology, accident and emergency or neurology or whatever is the best. The lengths to which some people go have to be seen to be believed – but the end result is a great evening for all and a princely sum raised for Interburns.

Special thanks go to Elliot Davis, David Johnstone, Alex Copping and Kay Fernandes as well as all the consultants who took part, the students who attended, comperes and everyone who helped make this such a great evening and now a regular event in the Medical School calendar at Swansea.
